Simple mouseovers

Posted by: Jennifer In: Scripts

Well, this just wouldn't be a scripty blog without a little mouseover tutorial. Here's a simple little mouseover script/tutorial: (I should add, there are many many many different ways to do mouseovers. This is just ONE of them. I'm not saying this is the "best" way.)

PHP slide show script

Posted by: amy In: Scripts

A friend of mine (Heather, of urbancombatdriving.com) is using this PHP slide show script, available at zinkwazi.com. She's using the slideshow script to display her 2002 photos on her photos page. While I haven't used the script myself yet (been insanely busy with my own coding project) I've really liked how the script works. From […]

load different stylesheet based on browser

Posted by: Jennifer In: Scripts

Thought I posted this here already, but I guess I didn't. Here's a javascript to detect the user's browser, and load the appropriate stylesheet. I came up with this script because some of the css things I had once been doing were not friendly with NS. <SCRIPT language="JavaScript"> <!– var browserName=navigator.appName; if (browserName=="Microsoft Internet Explorer") […]

Add a link script

Posted by: Jennifer In: Scripts

Current Version: 0.9 beta last updated: 6/24/02 ******IMPORTANT UPDATE 11/02****** There's been a number of bugs found with this script. Lynda had been working on a mySQL version but that was several months ago – so I think she's moved on. I'm sorry, but I've ceased development of this script. Blogrolling.com seems to be developing […]

Display recent WinAmp playlist

Posted by: amy In: Scripts

Some of you may have played around with DoSomething, a WinAmp plugin that allows you to generate songlists. While originally intended for Shoutcasters, I fell in love with this plugin over a year ago, and have been using it ever since to generate automatically-updated lists of the songs that have recently played in WinAmp. Requirements: […]

Code decoder…

Posted by: Jennifer In: Scripts

We post code here a lot on scriptygoddess… and if you haven't already noticed, if you don't replace your "<" and your ">" with "&lt;" and "&gt;" you break the page. Well, they say that necessity is the mother of invention… so I guess that means that LAZINESS is the mother of programming. Here's a […]

Easy pop up picture script

Posted by: Jennifer In: Scripts

This script was sent in by Pete Holiday. What this script does is make it easier for you to have pop up images on your site. Instead of writing the code for a new pop up window each time, this little snippet of PHP will basically write that code for you.

Using PHP to display birthday reminders

Posted by: amy In: Scripts

Once upon a time, my friends and I decided to start a group weblog. Our group used to be small enough that we'd always remember each other's birthdays, but we now have 24 people with posting privileges, and as a result, someone always slips through the cracks. Most people like having their birthdays remembered, so […]

Alternating comment colors

Posted by: amy In: Scripts

I feel just a wee bit lazy sharing this, because this snippet is only five lines long. However, these five lines have done more to make one of my sites pleasant to read than just about any other five lines of PHP I've written. The idea: let PHP drop in alternating styles into your comment […]
