IPod envy

Posted by: Jennifer In: Announcements

Breaking the standard format here to do some good ol' fashion begging…

After hearing that this offer was legit – and Christine DID in fact get her free ipod, I figured I'd give it a try too. So, here's my pathetic plea: Please click here and help me get a free ipod. Pretty please with sugah on top! 😀 [link removed because the more this goes on – the more this stinks of SCAM!!!!!!]

Updated afterwards: Just so you know, you'll have to sign up and act on one of their offers. I think the two most interesting ones are for the ink and Blockbuster. I did Blockbuster. You only have to stay a "member" for the two week (free) trial period, and then you can cancel and it still counts. So, you get to watch (at least) three movies for free… Seeing how I have tons of time to watch movies (not) I'll probably cancel after those two weeks are up.

Thanks everyone who've signed up so far!! 😀

UPDATEI just posted this in the comments, but wanted to add it to the post as well…Well if you'd like to know the catch it's this: I have had PLENTY of people sign up, however, only 3 are marked as having completed the offer. Some of these people I know for a FACT have actually completed the offer, yet they haven't updated the accounts. I contacted their customer service, and I got an automated response back. Stinks of SCAM to me…

And use a temporary email address, because you'll get lots of spam.

I've got 8 people who have signed up and not one has completed an offer! Argh!

For myself, I chose the Blockbuster offer. Same as NetFlix, but (I think) with more titles.

I went to sign up and don't see the Blockbuster offer there. How many people do you need to get to sign up?

One thing to keep in mind – that it may not show that you've completed the offer for a number of days. For example – with the BlockBuster one, I imagine they wait the full 15 days before logging it as completed. (And as for it not showing up, some people have been saying that. I think it depends on your area for what is offered. Also, I think they've been changing the offers around. One of the offers I saw yesterday was not there when I checked it again today – I'm still seeing the blockbuster one though…

Did you complete your offer for scripty@ yet? I show on my referrals that you signed up, but it doesn't show that you have completed an offer. Just curious – I have 6 down and 4 left to go! (Insert squeal of glee here!)

With the best intent do go through the process (I like Blockbuster, so it sounded not too bad or so was my thought) and going to begin the process myself to get oh such a cool photo ipod – but I'm sorry, just too much junk – of course that the site was not able to handle neither Safari nor OmniWeb and only ol' IE was able to go through the 'optional, but no way around it' survey (the other browsers just errored out on this step) ticked me off, but then the offers are really not usuable (for me) and I know I can't get 10 people to go through that for me – so I didn't finish the process (not even sure if it kept you as referrer when I had to copy/past URLs from Safari into IE to continue the process.

You really deserve getting the iPod, I've learned a lot from your site. So all I can say right now is "good luck" and hopefully a few others will find 'good enough' stuff to sign up themselfs for.

Heh, in the end I found an offer I could go with (ink, who doesn't need ink for their printer), but I had to change browser as Safari had some kind of hiccup and I hope that your name as referer didn't get lost in the process. If it did get lost, let me know and I see what I can do to get you that referer point.

Yeah, I completed the offer (and got the goods delivered today) and it still shows as if I didn't complete an offer. Will email tomorrow the company which had been the offering side as well as the freeipod people who put this up. More out of principle than thinking it will change something.

Thanks I appreciate your contacting them! Actually, I think you have more of a chance getting somewhere than when I complain about it (as a "third" party) – since YOU were the one who completed the offer. We'll see.

I think it is a scam. I signed up and it never got credited, not for myself as having it done nor for the referer. I wrote an email and never heard back (one has to go through a bunch of web pages until one can send an email on the issue). The goods have long time arrived. Also emailing this company resulted in a dead line, i.e. no comment back. I definitely think it's a scam at this point. Maybe a few lucky people out there get it to spread the word how cool it is, but it's not. It seems to be just another way to get stuff advertised for cheap.

I've removed the link to spare anyone else from signing up. I've complained to them with no result. Basically, short story, they suck donkey balls. :)

Well, it took almost 2 months for us to get ours, but we got one. As did two other bloggers I know here in Houston. (One of those bloggers got a free TV from Gratis too, and I think a purse is on the way also.) And Promoguy got one too. So I don't think it's a scam, but I don't get why they aren't upgrading your completed offers. :( I'm sorry…
