Good article. One small disagreement and one "I can't believe they left this out."
– under "transparencies," they were saying that the rule about logos being reproducible in one solid color is "gone." They went on, of course, to hedge their answer, but I've got to tell you that you will run into a million and one problems if you ignore this – faxes, anything that has to be photocopied, screened tees (if you're on a budget), etc. The thing to do is get fancy with the logo if you like, but have the artist do a monochrome/outline version AT THE SAME TIME. Don't just end up plopping it on the photocopier and hoping for the best.
– I can't believe they didn't address the biggest logo craze of the late '90s – ellipses! At one time there was an entire web site showing how many of these bloody things were out there. Of course, the late '90s may have thinned the herd, but they're still there. http://www.cdw.com for one example (and if you've seen one, you've seen 'em all!)

I found this link very informative… and resurgere's comment made me re-think the simple thing I threw up on my site!
