Import MT entries to WordPress

Posted by: Jennifer In: Bookmarks

Tutorial to move from MovableType to WordPress
(via mamawrite's sidebar this morning – but I think I've seen linked elsewhere as well – and if so I apologize for not giving the credits to you as well)

(FYI – I've got a copy of ExpressionEngine. I won't have time this weekend, but I intend to install and play ASAP! I also plan on installing b2evolution and WordPress. I may just end up running ALL THREE.)

I look forward to seeing how you get on with Expression Engine, that would certainly be my choice, should I move from MT.

Hey, also check out Textpattern. I have heard nothing but good stuff about it. It even has a hands off template building module for the HTML illiterate.

Don't forget to read Padawan's very thorough MT vs. Expression Engine article. Especially the update over how he metions while EE claims to have multiple blog support, it's not as intuitive as MT.

I am on the edge of my seat wondering where the tide will turn. Which CMS will win out, I wonder?

Really looking forward to hearing which one you end up going with as I was just about to move forward with a huge installation of MT, but not anymore obviously! :)

I am currently using GreyMatter as my blog, been using it for three years. I understand that MT will allow me to import old entries from GreyMatter into it. I was wondering if WordPress will also, or I would have to first import into MT and then upgrade to WordPress

The wrong move for MT
Since the release of the latest Movable Type version 3.0, they have gotten a lot of bad reviews mainly due to their change in pricing for their licenses.
